Prairie Restoration Project

The mission of the Prairie Restoration Project is to restore relationships between people and nature, and support a healthy thriving ecosystem, through land stewardship rooted in respect and reciprocity.

This opportunity is for all ages (ages 15 & under must be accompanied by an adult) with weekly restoration sessions to connect with Aurora's nature and care for natural habitats. Please see the calendar to determine if the session task works with youth.

During the restoration workdays volunteers will be removing non-native invasive plant species, seeding and planting native prairie plants, monitoring wildlife, collecting data as part of a research experiment, engaging in land based cultural practices using art, music, and more. No experience needed!

Check out the Prairie Restoration handbook for more information on the project.
