“The Local Cost of Freedom: Aurora’s Fallen in the Sesquisemiquincentennial Story.” March 10 to July 11, 2026

“The Local Cost of Freedom: Aurora’s Fallen in the Sesquisemiquincentennial Story.”

The Aurora History Museum & Historic Sites reflects on 150 years of Colorado statehood and 250 years of an independent United States with an exhibit that honors the servicemembers from Aurora who gave their lives for our freedoms.

“The Local Cost of Freedom: Aurora’s Fallen in the Sesquisemiquincentennial Story" places local stories within the larger framework of American history. Across the nation and the state, countless lives have been lost in the name of freedom, and the bravery of Aurora’s fallen is part of this enduring legacy.

During this year, full of historic milestones, this exhibit honors Aurora’s fallen and invites visitors into a space of thoughtful reflection and remembrance.

Visit the Aurora History Museum to see the exhibit and learn the stories now through July 11, 2026.
